Feeding the hungry \u2014 the mandate is clear and seems to simple, yet delivering food into the hands of those who need it the most can be challenging.<\/p>\n
Thankfully, so many of our missionaries are in a position to purchase and deliver food supplies to schools, hospitals, and missions throughout Africa.<\/p>\n
Through our Feeding Program, the children at the St. John Paul II Home for Children with Disabilities in Turkana County, Lokichar, Kenya, receive daily meals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe children\u2019s health is improving day by day, and we have experienced healing of several children. It is an encouragement to us,\u201d wrote Sr. Agnes Mumo, administrator for SJP Home.<\/p>\n
She goes on to say that the support they receive through the Feeding Program provides nutritious meals that strengthen weak muscles, and helps those recovering from surgeries. The money is used to purchase things like maize, bread, powdered milk, fruits and vegetables, firewood for cooking, and more.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur wish is to see all children walk, attend class, read, write, and do some personal duties alone,\u201d Sr. Agnes added.<\/p>\n
Through the generosity of our friends and donors, this program is able to support the local community in addition to the school. More than 250 children, sick, elderly, and infirm are fed every day.<\/p>\n
